The Domaine Chêne, located in the Mâconnais wine region, in Berzé-la-Ville, near La Roche Vineuse and Milly Lamartine, is a family-owned estate distinguished by its commitment to producing high-quality wines in harmony with its terroir and environment. Founded in 1973, the estate now spans 50 hectares of vines, planted on argilo-calcareous soils that impart a unique richness to the region’s wines.
The Chêne family is deeply rooted in viticulture. From the very beginning, they chose to produce wines that respect the authenticity of their terroir while integrating modern practices. Over the years, the family has successfully combined traditional know-how with innovation, ensuring consistent quality in their productions. Today, the estate is led by the second generation, with active involvement from the family in every stage of production. Each family member brings their expertise to the management of the vineyards, winemaking, and marketing of the wines, making Domaine Chêne an important player in the Burgundy wine landscape.
The estate carefully cultivates several iconic Burgundy grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gamay, and Aligoté. Each variety is selected based on the specific characteristics of the terroir, and the grapes are harvested manually, respecting traditional Burgundy winemaking practices. The estate also places a strong emphasis on sustainable farming, using environmentally friendly methods. It is certified as a Vigneron Indépendant and has the Haute Valeur Environnementale certification, reflecting its commitment to soil preservation, biodiversity, and product quality.
The wines of Domaine Chêne are diverse and reflect the richness and diversity of Burgundy’s terroirs. Among the cuvées offered are Mâcon La Roche Vineuse, Saint-Véran, Crémant de Bourgogne, as well as red wines from Pinot Noir and Gamay, which combine freshness, roundness, and complexity. Each wine is the result of meticulous attention, from vineyard cultivation to bottling.
