Homoky Dorka

Dorka Homoky grew up in a family of winemakers, where the vineyard and the cellar were her playground from an early age. Although winemaking was the foundation of her childhood and a significant part of her heritage, she initially chose to study film theory and philosophy after high school. However, over time, the call of the vines became too strong.

She began tasting wines, reading and learning more about them, and visiting wine regions and winemakers. After studying oenology and viticulture in Budapest and spending a semester in Lyon, she graduated in 2018. Finally, after gaining experience in New Zealand, she returned home to begin the process of becoming the fourth generation to lead the family estate. She now oversees the conversion of the vineyards to biodynamic practices and the adoption of a natural winemaking style.

Dorka represents a dynamic new generation emerging in the Tokaj region. She is among the first to have grown up within an established community of female mentors.
