The Skouras Estate, founded by Georges Skouras in 1986, was born out of his passion for viticulture and wine, which he nurtured after studying agronomy at the University of Dijon and gaining experience in renowned wine regions. Originally from Argos, a Greek city with a rich 3,000-year-old winemaking tradition, Georges established his first winery in Pyrgéla, near his hometown. He later opened a boutique winery in Gimno, in the Nemea appellation, where he deepened his knowledge of the Agiorgitiko grape. In 2004, the estate moved to Malandréni with a new modern facility that allows for precise control of production while maintaining a minimalist approach to winemaking intervention. The iconic wine Megas Oenos, a blend of Agiorgitiko and Cabernet Sauvignon, became the estate’s symbol, renowned for its exceptional aging potential.
Today, Georges Skouras leads the estate with his wife Ourania, while their children, Dimitris and Stella, continue the family vision. Dimitris, an oenologist trained in France, is in charge of winemaking and the vineyards, while Stella, with a background in economics and marketing, manages the wine tourism and public relations. The Skouras Estate is thus a place where viticultural excellence meets hospitality, while staying true to its roots and tradition.
