After studying hotel management and marketing, Louis joined a wine bar in northern France as a manager. It was during this time that he developed his palate for tasting and truly discovered the world of wine. In parallel, he became an independent consultant to train restaurant staff in wine service and share his passion through tasting courses. Upon arriving in Quebec in 2017, he decided to pursue WSET certifications and became a sommelier in several restaurants in Montreal. With all these experiences combined, he naturally turned to sales representation in agencies and joined the BMT team. Louis is a passionate representative whose humor and good mood charm everyone he meets.

Capable of handling a significant workload in a short amount of time to meet set deadlines, he remains meticulous and precise.

It all begins in 2013

Guided by instinct and trust. These are the words Laura and Manfred would use to summarize the journey since their arrival in Quebec in January 2013, and the creation of Importations BMT three months later. As recent graduates, they arrived with nothing but their ambition, passion, dynamism, appetite, and thirst for everything!

Thanks to the right encounters, hard work, investigations, a few bold moves, and many leaps into the unknown, Importations BMT has become a major player in Quebec's wine and spirits landscape, both with retail stores (SAQ) and restaurateurs, boasting a private import portfolio of over 300 references.

Since 2018, the agency has expanded into all the monopolies in Eastern Canada: Ontario (LCBO), Nova Scotia (NSLC), New Brunswick (ANBL), Newfoundland and Labrador (NLC), and Prince Edward Island (PEILCC).

Today, BMT is a team of 14 collaborators, whose talents combine and complement each other to manage the marketing of over 4 million bottles imported each year from twenty countries.

Build projects and strategies

In our agency, the only stars are the products we represent. BMT’s purpose is to do everything possible to introduce new references to our markets and, once available, to showcase them to as many people as possible through the various sales networks open to us: monopoly branches, private stores, restaurants, corporate clients. We highlight these products through a variety of promotional channels, such as tastings, training, urban advertising, social media, and both general and specialized press...
