Idaia Winery was founded by oenologists Vassilis Laderos and Kalliopi Volitaki, with a mission to highlight the unique indigenous Cretan grape varieties and diverse vineyards of the island. The family-owned winery is located in the heart of the Cretan vineyard, in the Malevizio province, in the village of Venerato, south of Heraklion, in the AOP Dafnes wine region. With a deep respect for the environment, their approach to sustainability is guided by respect for Mother Nature. Thus, they intervene as little as possible both in the vineyard and in the cellar. All work is done manually, based on the particular characteristics of each year.
